Senator Downing's office provides a number of services to the residents of the Berkshire, Hampshire & Franklin District.

Constituent Services/Casework: Senator Downing's office works everyday to help ensure state agencies are accessible and responsive to the needs and concerns of his district -- the Pittsfield staff is dedicated to constituent services and casework. While he cannot require an agency to decide a matter in your favor, the Senator's staff can help you to get fair and timely consideration of problems at state agencies, or help you navigate through the often confusing layers of state bureaucracy. Please note that we cannot offer legal advice or intervene in pending litigation. * Please note that due to privacy laws, many inquiries the Senator receives regarding an individual's health care benefits or other social services cannot be acted upon without a completed Permission to Share Information Form. This Form allows the Senator's office to speak to agency staff on your behalf. To expedite your inquiry, please print and fill the Form out completely and then fax, email or mail the form to Annie Kirkpatrick.

Special Recognitions: Senator Downing is happy to send commemorative greetings constituents to acknowledge their special events or occasions, including special birthdays or anniversaries, Eagle Scout or Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, and other special requests.

State House Visits and Tours: If you are coming to the State House, please let us know! The Senator is always happy to receive visitors from his district when they come to "the People's House," when his schedule permits it. If the Senator is unavailable his staff would be happy to provide a State House tour. There are also official State House tours available through the Secretary of State's office.
